Why glulam (BSH)
Individual lamellae (40 mm) are glued in layers from at least three glued boards on their broad sides with parallel fibres to make stable components. To achieve this, we use artificially dried and planed coniferous wood from spruce, Douglas fir, pine and larch. The lamellae are connected longitudinally with finger joints and then glued together to the required height and planed to a finish. The rigid joining between the individual lamellae creates timber components that have considerably better technical and structural properties than solid wood.
Advantages of glulam (BSH)
- Exceptional rigidity and dimensional stability
- High load-bearing capacity with low weight
- High stability in case of fire
- High-quality surfaces in the visible area
- No warping, as can occur with solid wood
- Easy to process
- Due to mechanical drying, no treatment with wood preservatives is necessary
