ED BSP | Cross laminated timber

ED BSP | cross laminated timber consists of at least 3 and a maximum of 9 layers of crosswise stacked, generally symmetrically structured boards evenly glued together. These large solid wood panels are especially used for wall, ceiling or roof elements in modern timber construction. Glueing is done with PUR adhesive made by Purbond, a formaldehyde- and solvent-free glue approved for the production of load-bearing wooden components. The solid wood elements are cut down to the millimetre in panels measuring up to 3 m x 15 m. We will gladly provide advice and support your projects in regard to element planning, construction details, static and construction physics. Ready-for-assembly structural parts with rebates, precise window and door cut-outs, installation slits and boreholes, are delivered to the site as requested.

The short assembly time and the massive walls that many clients do not want to dispense with, the design and construction versatility, and last but not least, the healthy and comfortable interior climate are the decisive advantages of ED BSP | cross laminated timber. The elements can be individually adapted to the demands made on fire protection, noise and thermal insulation and are therefore very well suited for public buildings such as schools, nursery schools, as well as for detached single-family homes and apartment blocks, office and commercial buildings. Own in-house supervision and inspections by accredited inspection and monitoring bodies guarantee high product quality. Surfaces for visible and invisible use are delivered in Douglas fir, pine and larch, amongst others. ED-BSP | cross laminated timber is used in utilisation classes 1 and 2, i.e. it may not be exposed to direct weathering.

Advantages of ED BSP | cross laminated timber

  • Ecological and highly load-bearing construction material
  • Multiple crossed glued lamellae offer outstanding form stability and dimensional accuracy, as well as outstanding static properties
  • Massive construction with large elements measuring up to 3 m x 15 m
  • Large structural parts minimise assembly time and thus construction costs
  • Pre-fabricated contruction elements and a dry building method ensure fast assembly and occupancy
  • Quality-supervised production
  • Delivery of ready-to-assemble, joined structural parts directly to the construction site
  • Planning freedom – free floor plans possible
  • Healthy and comfortable indoor climate in solid wooden walls
  • The large timber mass optimally absorbs heat and indoor moisture, while keeping the surface pleasantly warm. This climate ensures well-being
  • Very good heat insulation in the winter, excellent heat protection in the summer
  • Cross laminated timber is the suitable construction material for low-energy and passive houses
  • Permeable wall elements, no vapour or moisture barrier necessary
  • High dimensional accuracy, as cutting is done with state-of-the-art CNC technology
